Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria, Cranbourne Gardens

Just a 45 minute drive from Melbourne's city centre, discover the astonishing beauty and diversity of more than 170,000 individual native plants at the Cranbourne Gardens. You will find them displayed in settings that capture the essence of Australia's diverse landscape from the Red Centre to the coastal fringes.

The Australian Garden comprises 11 precincts and facilities at the northern end of the garden, boardwalks and viewing platforms on Howson and Gibson Hills, and an amphitheatre for education programs and performances.

From the Australian Garden, head into the bushland and picnic areas or visit the Gardens Shop and Boon Wurrung Cafe.

Boon Wurrung café has an event space called the ‘Tarnuk Room’ which is great for holding functions and is catered by Boon Wurrung café. The capacity for this event space is 200 people.

Boon Wurrung café also has picnic boxes for sale, including BBQ Packs that can be cooked at the Picnic Areas. Some of our favourite spots are the Ian Potter Lakeside Precinct Lawn, Woodland Picnic Area and Stringybark Picnic Area. These three spaces are great for large business groups, and Ian Potter Lakeside Precinct Lawn is a lovely lawn space next to our lake while the two bushland picnic spots are surround by remnant native forest.

Open daily except Christmas Day.
